Travel by Bus
Most New Jersey Transit #197 buses stop at our driveway, which is
at the corner of Hamburg Turnpike and Squad Place (a half mile
north of Alps Road).
NOTE: Some #197 buses do not go past Squad
place, so be sure to check the schedule,
which is available online at: http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T1196.pdf
When
you get on the bus, tell the driver that you want to get off at
Hamburg Turnpike and Squad Place in Wayne.
The #197 'northbound' route starts at the Port Authority bus
terminal in New York
and goes through Wayne after stopping in Willowbrook Mall (a major
transfer point)
and making stops in Totowa.
The southbound route begins in Warwick, New York and goes through
Ringwood, Wanaque,
and Pompton Lakes before reaching Wayne.
There
are many transfer points along the route, including the one at
Willowbrook Mall,
which makes us accessible by bus from additional towns (and from
New York).
[To view the schedule you must have the Acrobat Reader program or
an equivalent, but
the reader can be downloaded (free) by clicking here.]
If
you
get off the bus coming from the south, you will be on the same
side of the street as our driveway.
If you get off the bus coming from the north, you will have to
cross the street.
You
will
see a Wayne Adult Community Center sign directly under the sign
for the Schuyler-Colfax school.
Walk
along
the road that leads to the Schuyler-Colfax school (it looks like a
continuation of Squad Place).
We are in the white and brick building on the left.
You can contact New Jersey Transit by phone, at (800)-772-2222.
